Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel
Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel engaged Bythwood Creative for high-level event support during a focused period following the property’s reopening. The work included leading creative direction and full execution of a nonprofit gala hosted at the hotel, as well as providing internal design support for additional special events.
The gala became the nonprofit’s most successful fundraising evening to date — and the collaboration extended into brand-aligned event design work within the hotel’s broader hospitality framework.
Nonprofit Gala: Theme, Identity & Execution
For the hosted nonprofit gala, the work began with concept. A unifying theme was developed to guide the evening’s tone and visuals across invitations, printed materials, stage graphics, and signage.
Creative direction included:
Gala theme development
Event identity design
Invitation and printed collateral
Branded signage and program materials
Presentation and stage visuals
The visual system anchored the experience from guest arrival through closing remarks.
Run of Show & Event Leadership
Beyond design, the evening required structure. The full program was mapped minute-by-minute to maintain pacing, support fundraising moments, and ensure seamless transitions throughout the night.
Execution included:
Detailed run-of-show development
Vendor coordination
Talent sourcing and booking
Schedule and programming management
On-site event leadership
Creative and logistics were managed together to ensure cohesion.
Event Marketing & Promotional Materials
Promotional materials were developed to build attendance and momentum while aligning with both the nonprofit’s messaging and Kimpton’s brand standards.
Marketing materials included:
Event promotion graphics
Digital announcements
Supporting print materials
Fundraising presentation assets
Internal Special Event Design Support
Following the gala, Bythwood Creative was engaged to provide additional design support for special events hosted at the Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel. Despite having an in-house creative team and national brand affiliation, the hotel brought in BC for focused collaboration.
Internal design support included:
Special event graphics
Event-specific collateral
Brand-aligned design materials
Work was executed within established hospitality brand standards while delivering tailored creative solutions.
Impact
The nonprofit gala delivered a cohesive guest experience and record fundraising results. The broader collaboration demonstrated the ability to operate within a large hospitality brand system while managing both creative direction and operational execution.
